Room for Family Caregivers to Pause

Caring for a loved one can be deeply meaningful and relentlessly demanding. Respite Care gives family caregivers time to rest, work, attend appointments, run errands, or simply step away while their loved one receives dependable non-medical assistance and companionship.

Corley Care aims to preserve the person’s familiar routine during that time. Respite is not about replacing the family caregiver. It is practical support that helps caregiving remain more sustainable.

What Respite Care May Include

  • Companionship and attentive presence
  • Help with familiar daily routines
  • Meal-related assistance
  • Personal assistance where appropriate
  • Supervision, reassurance, and reminders
  • Shared activities based on the client’s interests

The type and timing of support are discussed in advance. Scheduling needs vary, and Corley Care does not promise a particular minimum, duration, or same-day availability through this website.

Who Respite Care May Help

Respite can support spouses, adult children, relatives, and friends who regularly help a loved one. Some families seek occasional breathing room; others want to discuss a more consistent pattern of support. It may be especially helpful when a caregiver is balancing employment, children, appointments, travel, or their own health and wellbeing.

Depending on the loved one’s needs, respite may include elements of Companion Care, Personal Care Assistance, or non-medical Dementia Care.

Continuity Matters

Stepping away is easier when a family knows the routines that matter will be respected. We listen to practical details: preferred meals, favorite activities, how the day usually flows, and what helps the person feel at ease. That preparation can make the transition feel less disruptive for everyone.

A Non-Medical Service

Respite Care from Corley Care provides non-medical Personal Assistance Services. It does not include skilled nursing, therapy, diagnosis, medical treatment, medication administration, emergency response, or guaranteed continuous monitoring. Families should continue to coordinate clinical needs with the appropriate medical professionals.

Take the Next Step Without Pressure

If you are carrying most of the care and need room to handle the rest of life, it is reasonable to ask for help. Share what your loved one needs and what kind of break would be useful, and we can discuss potential next steps.

We had been through several home health companies and none of them would care for my parents as needed. My dad was a stroke patient and was difficult to transfer and to care for. My mother was difficult and hard to please. Ruth Corley was called and she and her team met their needs in a most gentle and caring way. She followed my dad’s care routine carefully and was so kind to them. I would highly recommend her to care for your loved one’s needs.
I liked Corley Care from the beginning, meeting with the owner, I found that she had a depth of knowledge and care that was reassuring given that I was new to needing help and care for my parents.
